Friday Follow (2)

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event where bloggers and readers can find new blogs to follow. It's a neat idea for new bloggers (very much like myself) because it helps them connect with other bloggers and it gives them an opportunity to find blogs similar to theirs. I'm really excited about participating in this! If you're interested, go over to Crazy for Books :)

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week. For today's Book Blogger Hop post, Jen asked us to talk about the book we're currently reading. Right now, I'm reading (or, actually, finishing) Paper Towns by John Green. Like Green's other books, Paper Towns is narrated by a male character, Quentin, who's pretty much invisible in his high school. He's not much of a nerd, he's not a band geek, he's not the bullied one, but he doesn't have a lot of friends, either. He's sort of just... him. He's been in love with Margo his whole life, and one night she decides to take him with her on an adventure, only to disappear the next day. Shaken by her disappearance, Quentin suddenly discovers that, in true Margo fashion, she's left a bunch of clues leading to where she is, and she left them for him. Determined to find her, Quentin goes on an adventure like no other to find the girl he loves.

I am a big fan of John Green's book, Looking for Alaska, and this is something similar to it. It's a lot funnier and a bit more light-hearted, but there are undeniable similarities between the characters' personalities. The writing's impeccable, too, and it's the kind of book that will be enjoyed by both male and female readers. An overall good book! Now if you don't mind, I have some reading to do. I'm only a few pages away from the end of the book, and I absolutely must find out how Quentin's journey ends! ;)
