Friday Follow (17)

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event where bloggers and readers can find new blogs to follow. It's a neat idea for new bloggers (very much like myself) because it helps them connect with other bloggers and it gives them an opportunity to find blogs similar to theirs. I'm really excited about participating in this! If you're interested, go over to Crazy for Books :)

The Book Blogger Hop Question: If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?
Always! I never, ever read a series out of order. I just feel like I'll be missing out on so much if I do, and I'd just end up confused and eventually read the thing in order.

Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Host { Parajunkee.com } and any one else you want to follow on the list

Parajunkee's Question: What is your usual monthly book budget?
As of now none! LOL. I put myself on a book-ban month this November, to focus on NaNoWriMo (barely any luck with that so far- last two weeks have been HELL!) and mostly for school, review for exams, study ahead and all that. And normally, there are highs and lows. Like I occasionally go on a book-buying binge and spend up to $80 in one go, then buy only one book the next month. But on average, I'd say around $40.

  6. Hey! I'm your newest follower; just stopping by on the hop to wish you a great weekend!

I agree with you. It's always best to start with the first book in a series. Every now and then I'll read one out of order without realizing it and end up thouroughly confused!

  9. Thanks for dropping by and I am a follower too!

I agree with you. I don't have a budget. Sometimes when you have the money, then buy the book. However, when you don't, you can't buy them really, can you? :)

    Have a great weekend!

  16. I can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
    doesn't run chronologically.

That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.

On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

As for a book budget - I don't have one! I try to limit myself, and bargain with myself (which does work on occasion, amazingly).

    Have a great weekend!
